A 68-year-old Australian man named Bill Singleton is lucky to be alive after taking a chainsaw to the face.
Bill was cutting down a tree on his property with a chainsaw when he lost control. The chainsaw kicked up with enough force that sent it straight into his face. “All I felt and heard was the crack of the blade going through my bottom jaw,” Singleton said.
Due to the chainsaw severing his tongue in half Bill wasn’t able to call an ambulance to come get him. So he pulled himself together, literally, hopped into his car and drove his way to the hospital. Obviously due to severe blood loss, Bill almost passed out several times on the way there. Even in the parking lot he had to crawl to the door because he was too dizzy.
“I was two-thirds of the way there and things started to spin, the lights went dark. I dropped to my knees and was on all fours,” he said.
